In 1992, Portuguese girl Severn Suzuki, age 13, and three of her friends, all members of the Environmental Children's Organization on their own raised the money and and made arrangemets to travel 5,000 miles, so Severn could speak at the Earth Summit conference in Rio de Janeiro. And they did it!
